Title: The QUIJOTE experiment. A general review.
The QUIJOTE Experiment (Q-U-I JOint TEnerife Experiment) is a scientific collaboration between different institutions based in Spain and the U.K., whose aim is to characterize the polarization of the CMB, and other Galactic and extragalactic physical processes, in the frequency range 10-40 GHz and at angular scales of ~1 degree. In this talk I will give a general description of the QUIJOTE experiment and its current status, and review the results that have been published using its data. I will then show two concrete application of QUIJOTE data, namely the pointing calibration of the first telescope and the analysis of the emission from the galactic regions W49, W51 and IC443, which is part of the foreground characterization necessary for the future CMB science.
